Business Financial Management and Accounting Pathway

The Business Financial Management and Accounting pathway contains a variety of careers based on specific knowledge, skill-sets, and necessary educational requirements. Those who enter careers in this pathway tend to have strong interests in making sure the budget is balanced to the very last penny! They enjoy dealing with numbers and using numbers to tell an accurate story about the health of a business. They are the workers who can give you an accurate financial report so you can make the most educated business decisions on whether to expand, move in a new direction, or even close down one of your operations.

These number crunchers are not as interested in running the whole show, but take special satisfaction in the financial parts of the business, sometimes from a leadership position. They are like a financial traffic light, and have the skills and knowledge to flash on a green when financial records are in order, a yellow when you need to pay closer attention to some possible problems, and a bright red when you need to stop, look, and listen to what they suggest.
